Druid Tips

Still under construction . ...come back for more info as this story is developing.  Updated 2013/10/09

I for one I'm not going to tell you which Enhancements to take or not to take, nor I'm I the expert in all of DDO, however there are some things I do know, and recently I did a redo of my enhancements, and it got me to thinking the some of the choices out there.  As you know by now I like my druid class and the features of the druid.

The Pet is your protection, it helps make your job easier, especially at lower levels, and can save your life.  So what tips can I offer, for one Buffing your pet on your guild ship is a good start, but there is other things that you can do, for one buff your pet with barkskin, and longrider, perhaps, protection of elements, and mass effect spells.  Having a better AC, Strength and more Hit points, with Bear Endurance will go along way.   Don't forget to get your pet some Armor and a Collar as well, and train them , they gain 2 Enhancements per level.

Now for some real interesting Enhancements, that a druid takes especially at low level and medium level.

Cold hard facts about the druid, it is a good melee combatant , decent hit points, and depending on your enhancements, decent  AC with  damaging spell casting to boot, a good fill in, or helper for the mage, plus druids get to raise dead, and good heal, pretty much like a cleric does, perhaps not as  good, but good for soloing,  and helping the cleric out once in a while.  I would say  that the druid is one of the best multi classed toons, without being multi classed.

When a druid starts their career, they don't have much of offensive spells,  but rather helpful spells which helps them with melee combat.  At 3rd level they get some wood chucking spell, and at 5th they can pick Call Lightning, so the best choices are as far as feats are concerned are either Augment Summoning, or toughness feat at 1st level, then the other at 2nd level.   At Fifth level, feat, a good melee combat feat is a must.   Basically follow the path of the Druid Nature's Warrior path line, however just remember though your Prestige class  will need to change to the Druid Seasons' Herald at some point in your career, but now with the new update 19, you can pick from any of the Enhancement Trees of any of your classes and race that you are.

Since the Update 19 there has been a number of changes, not sure if they are all good.... :(  The Spell enhancements to point power is to add more points in the Season's Herald Tree. And though magic items.

Once I figure out all the changes I'll post my new tips about the druid and other classes/ Enhancements

In the lower lower levels and mid levels it might be good to put in points to follow the path to gain reduced spell point costs to cast Call Lighting, etc.... However once you are able to cast the Sunburst in the tree, it is almost mandatory to reset the tree, and pick more useful enhancements.  Pick the Storm of Vengeance and the Sunburst spells from the bottom for reduced spell cost.  HUGE TIP  :) Thanks Kat :)  Make sure you still  choose Sunburst and Storm of Vengeance on your spell list and from the enhancements on your hotbar,  if you keep both sets in memory and on the hotbar, you can cast both spells back to back without having a cooldown timer on the spells, DDO thinks they are different spells so, use this to your advantage. And slay your enemies faster.

Lightning spells are nice to have on hand, there are so many spells which don't work without having an active target or one within range, the Call Lighting Storm spell.  All of them including the Storm of Vengeance, will go through walls, doors and other objects, which normally get blocked like healing.  If your not sure where an enemy is a lighting spell will find them.

Having trouble with your training dummy on the guild ship, cast a Call Lighting Storm. Equips 2 weapons and watch the dummy get hit, check your to hit and damage rolls in combat tab.
